Jamesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue members assisted Lafayette and several other fire departments with a resident fire Thursday night. Members left to right, Fire Captain Ryan Dill, Firefighter Ron Nabewaniec, Lieutenant Mike Burry, EMT Emily Stewart, EMS Captain Tracy Pileski and Firefighter Pete Pileski. Great job team!

Jamesville and surrounding fire department members recently participated in a National Grid training on managing emergencies involving electrical transmission lines.

Did you know electricity can spread outward through the ground in a circular shape from the point of contact? As you move away from the center, large differences in voltages can be created.

Treat everything electrical as energized until tested and proven to be “de-energized”. Stay at least 30 feet away and call 911 immediately!!

A recent early morning residential fire brought multiple fire department members out of their slumber to face heat from weather, a full-blown blaze, and billowing smoke. Under the command of Chief Jeffrey Kunsman of Jamesville Fire Department, the fire was brought under control and no injuries were reported. Great Job!!
