HAPPY NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK!!
We are so excited to celebrate our library with you!!

Did you know our library has so much more than books? Puzzles, computers, 3D printing, and so much more - including an amazing staff. Just go in and check it out! Oh, and that big blue bus? Our bookmobile! Delivering books all throughout the county for others to enjoy.

YOU can support the library this week by:
- JOINING THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY!!
- Checking out a book
- Getting a library card
- Attend events
- Buying some library merch to rock around town
- Use digital resources
- Tell your friends and family to do the same

Do you know the history of the Friends?!

Bill Kennedy helped to found the Friends of the James River Valley Library System a decade ago. The Friends was approved as a 501(c)3 by the state of North Dakota in November 2016, and by the IRS in February 2017. Since then, they have worked closely with the staff and board to support children’s and adult programming and provide fund raising activities for both library branches and the bookmobile. The Friends are also involved with grant writing and event support for the library.

Now is a great time to add the Friends to your story! Join or renew your membership today for just $10. Your membership funds support all of the awesome resources in our library, and on wheel (looking at you, bookmobile)!

WHO ARE THE JRVLS FRIENDS?
The Friends of the James River Valley Library System is an independent non-profit volunteer organization working to further the educational and informational needs of the community through its support of the James River Valley Library System. The Friends are committed to assisting the library as it works to fulfill the community’s informational needs through fundraising and advocating for the library through programming and public awareness activities. Everyone who supports the Friends through a $10 annual membership is considered a Friend and is added to our email list to stay informed and connected. Friends also have the opportunity to join the Friends Board of Directors, which meets several times a year to work on supporting the library.

Food for Fines Drive 📚🥫

James River Valley Library System will host a Food for Fines food and toiletry drive from February 2–28.

During this time, library patrons may bring a non-perishable food item or toiletry to any JRVLS branch to receive forgiveness of overdue fines. This initiative provides an opportunity to support the community while clearing outstanding library fines.

All donated items will be distributed to local food pantries ❤️.

Please note: Forgiveness applies only to overdue fines for materials returned late. Charges for lost or damaged items are not eligible.

💕 Sweetheart Dance 💕
Join us for an unforgettable night of fun, dancing, and memories. Dance the night away with a live DJ from🎵 Hey D.J. Mobile Music, there will be refreshments to keep your energy up, and a photo booth to capture special moments with friends and loved ones. Bring your sweetheart, your family, and your friends for a night to remember! Be sure to sign up for our drawings to win some great prizes throughout the night.
Free event -- everyone is welcome to attend.
