Fentress County continues to see the impact of tourism benefits!

In 2025, visitors brought $9.8 MILLION in spending to Fentress County, money that was spent right here in our community. This is a 6.51% increase compared to last year, and a year-after-year improvement for the past 10 years!

That means that, on average, $26,914 is spent by visitors in Fentress County every single day. From grabbing a meal at a local restaurant and shopping with a small business to staying in a cabin, fueling up, or enjoying one of our many outdoor attractions, visitors are supporting the businesses that make our community special.

Tourism also generated $927,240 in state and local tax revenue last year, including $459,489 in state taxes and $467,751 in local taxes.

And the benefit doesn't stop with our businesses. Those visitor-generated tax dollars help support schools, roads, public services, and other important needs across Tennessee. Without the taxes generated by tourism, the average Fentress County household would have to pay approximately $118 more each year in state and local taxes.

One important distinction: the $9.8 million in visitor spending isn't money being given to the county. It represents money visitors are spending with Fentress County businesses, helping our local economy, supporting jobs, and keeping dollars circulating in our community.

Tourism is an investment in Fentress County, and the return is something we all get to experience.

Thank you to every local business, attraction, lodging provider, restaurant, and community partner who helps make Fentress County a destination worth visiting. We couldn't do it without you!
