Today, we recognize and celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

In observance, all Jamestown Public Schools buildings will be closed on Friday, June 19. We look forward to welcoming students and staff back on Monday, June 22.

REMINDER: Summer is almost here — and so are our 2026 JPS Summer Camps & Clinics! ❤️💚

From football and basketball to speed and agility training, there are great opportunities for students to stay active, build skills, and have fun this summer with our Red & Green coaching staff and student-athletes!

⚡ Speed Development Camp — June 29-July 2 | 9 to 10:30 a.m.
🏀 Little Ballers Camp (Grades 1-4) — July 6-9 | 9 to 11:30 a.m.
⛹️ Offensive Skills Basketball Camp for Boys (Grades 5-8) — July 6-9 | 9 to 11:30 a.m.
🆕 Summer Open Pool @ JHS (Grades 6-12) — Wednesdays July 8th – August 12th | 2-3 p.m.

Congratulations to our newly inducted members of the National Junior Honor Society here at Washington Middle School!

These students are a great representation of scholarship, leadership, service, character and citizenship, and are exemplary role models to those around them. Thank you to their advisor, Gina Wakefield, who has helped to guide them in this process and leads with that same character. Great job Lobos!

From football and basketball to speed and agility training, there are great opportunities for students to stay active, build skills, and have fun this summer with our Red & Green coaching staff and student-athletes!

🏈 Jamestown Area Youth Football Camp — June 29-July 2 | 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
🏀 Little Ballers Camp (Grades 1-4) — July 6-9 | 9 to 11:30 a.m.

What an incredible celebration of creativity at our annual District Art Show! 🎨✨❤️💚
Congratulations to all of our talented students and dedicated art teachers on a remarkable showcase featuring artwork created throughout the 2025-26 school year! 🖌️

🖼️ From paintings and sculptures to mixed media and digital creations, the evening was a wonderful reflection of the imagination, passion, and hard work happening across Jamestown Public Schools every day.

REMINDER: Join us to celebrate our student artists! 🖌️ The 2026 Jamestown Public Schools Spring Art Show will take place on Tuesday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the gymnasium of Jefferson Middle School.

Each Jamestown art teacher selected pieces of student artwork to include in the show. With hundreds of works of art from kindergarten through 12th grade, the district’s talented artists will have the opportunity to showcase their creative art skills to their families and the community.

A virtual presentation of the pieces will be made available on May 20 following the show's conclusion at jpsny.org/artshow.

⚾️ JV Baseball Home vs. West Seneca West has been postponed and rescheduled as a Double Header at West Seneca West starting at 4:00pm on 5/14/26.
🥎 JV Softball at Chautauqua Lake has been postponed, new date TBD.
🥎 Modified Softball at Falconer has been postponed, new date TBD.

All other events for today remain as scheduled.
