Let's talk about the World's Largest Buffalo.

Built in 1959, this 26 foot-tall, 60-ton concrete giant has been standing watch over the heart of the North Dakota prairie. Construction costs to build him was around $8,500, the equivalent of around $97,000 today!

"Dakota Thunder" has long called Jamestown home, and he has welcomed thousands of visitors to the area for over 67 years. Have you said hello and "Touched the Beard" yet?

In Tourism, we like to play the game "What would ______ do if they were in Jamestown today?"

We had our friend Teddy Roosevelt answer that one for us recently. Frontier Village, World's Largest Buffalo, North American Bison Discovery Center, Murals, a baseball game at Jack Brown Stadium, 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, and Fort Seward were all MUSTS!

We hope you make plans to take in all of these events AND MORE! And please, tell them Teddy sent 'cha! BULLY!

The Stutsman County Fair is SO back!

Since 1898 (that's not a typo), the Stutsman County Fair has continued it's tradition of providing some of the best entertainment and attractions in North Dakota! Carnival games, amusement rides, live entertainment every night on the free stage, and so much more can be found!

The fun returns June 24-27!

24 years of ropin', ridin', bustin', and more!

James River Rodeo Inc has been entertaining families and spectators for a long time, and that tradition continues June 26 & 27 at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds! The fun starts at 6:30 PM each evening and includes a candy toss, the Jamestown Clowns, pin the calf tail, raffles, vendor show, and of course great food and atmosphere!

Get a taste of this great tradition in Jamestown this summer!

Front Porch Chats are back at the Stutsman County Memorial Museum!

Come hear the stories that helped shape Jamestown and Stutsman County with different topics every Sunday! The next chat will feature Keith Norman on June 14th with the topic "Jamestown in 250 Years of US History!"

Later, hear from Randy Perkins on his book "The Arrow" with history highlights of the region on June 21. The last one of June will be June 28 with Ruth Brubakken and a discussion of President Theodore Roosevelt!
