📚 It’s almost time to welcome our students back!

The first day of school for all Jamestown Public Schools students is Wednesday, Sept. 2. Thursday, Sept. 3, and Friday, Sept. 4, will be full days of school.

Schools will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.

We can’t wait to see our students on Sept. 2! 🎉

REMINDER: While the fall season is already underway for our football programs, official practices and tryouts for our other fall sports begin Monday, Aug. 24. All athletes must register on Arbiter at jpsny.org/athletics.

Jamestown students have opportunities to participate in:

🏃 Boys and girls cross country

🎾 Girls tennis

🏃 Jamestown High School’s cross country program invites students to find their people and join the team!

Whether you love running, want a new challenge, or are simply curious about cross country, we want you! Build confidence, make new friends, set goals, and become part of a supportive team that wants to see you succeed — in the classroom and on the course.

Modified and varsity summer meetups are taking place Monday through Thursday from 8–10 a.m. at Bergman Park. The first official practice will be held Monday, Aug. 24, from 8–10:30 a.m. at Strider Field.

👏 The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education has approved the appointment of Allison Morganti to serve as long-term substitute assistant principal at Jefferson Middle School!

Mrs. Morganti returns to Jefferson, where she began her career in education in 2012. She most recently served as a teacher on special assignment supporting students and staff at Love Elementary School.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to return to Jefferson Middle School, the school where I began my career in education, and give back to a community that played such an important role in my professional journey,” Morganti said. “I look forward to supporting our students, staff, and families while continuing to grow as a leader.”

Our JPS Summer JUMP students closed out a summer filled with community adventures by visiting SUNY Jamestown Community College’s STEM Summer Kids Camp! 🔬🧪

Throughout the week, students explored the JCC campus while taking part in exciting, hands-on activities focused on biology, chemistry, and physics. What a fun way to spark curiosity, discover new interests, and finish an incredible summer of learning!

Our JPS JUMP middle school students had an incredible time during Week 3 with our partners at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts and the Pearl City Clay House! 🎨

Through a variety of hands-on activities, students had the opportunity to explore their creativity, discover new talents, and express themselves through the arts. We’re grateful to our community partners for providing such a fun and inspiring experience for our students!
