The voters of Onslow County have spoken tonight, and I want to sincerely congratulate the candidates who were successful in today’s election.

While we fell short by a narrow margin, I’m incredibly proud of the campaign we ran and deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from so many across our community. Morgan, Eli, and I are thankful to every volunteer, supporter, and voter who believed in our message of strong services, smart growth, and honest leadership.

Public service has never been about holding a seat for me. It’s about serving the people of this county and working to make our community stronger. You don’t have to sit on the bench to keep working for the future of Onslow County.

That work will continue.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the process and continues to care about the future of our county.

Local turnout is usually low…
But local decisions affect everything.

💰 Your taxes.
🚑 EMS response times.
🛣️ Our roads.
🏫 Our schools.
📈 How fast we grow.

Morgan and I are raising Eli right here.
So this isn’t political to me — it’s personal.

We have to protect taxpayers.
Improve response times.
Plan growth the right way.

If we’re not careful, we’ll pave over what makes this county home —
our farmland and fishing industry. 🌾🎣

Over the last few days, many families across Onslow County have received their new property tax assessments — and for some, the increase is significant.

Let me be clear: when property values go up, that does not mean your tax bill should automatically go up.

As your next County Commissioner, I will fight to ensure we do everything in our power to maintain a revenue-neutral tax rate — and where possible, work to reduce the tax rate so families can keep more of their hard-earned money.

This is about fairness.
This is about protecting working families, seniors on fixed incomes, and small business owners.
And this is about responsible leadership.

Growth should never become an excuse to grow government faster than it grows our community.

We can fund strong emergency services, support education, and invest in infrastructure — without overburdening taxpayers.

If elected, I will push for transparency, disciplined budgeting, and a tax rate that reflects the values of our community — lower when possible, stable when necessary.

Onslow County families deserve smart growth — not higher tax bills.
