BITZ PATRIOT WALK – SEPTEMBER 11, 2026
On Friday, September 11, Bitz Intermediate School will come together for our annual Patriot Walk. The walk will begin at approximately 8:50 a.m. and will take place in coordination with Johnson Primary School.
The Patriot Walk provides our students, staff, and families with an opportunity to come together as a community to honor and remember the significance of September 11 while demonstrating unity, patriotism, respect, and remembrance. ❤️🤍💙
👟 Families are welcome to join us for the walk!
Families with students at both Bitz and Johnson Primary School may check their Bitz student out through the front office if they would like their children to walk together with their sibling. Students must be officially signed out before joining their family.
We look forward to bringing our Bitz and JPS communities together for this meaningful event and showing our students the importance of remembrance, unity, and community. 🇺🇸

Twenty years ago today, Bitz Intermediate School welcomed its first group of students. Our school was named for Sgt. Michael Bitz, a Marine who was assigned to 2nd Assault Amphibious Battalion and was killed in action in Iraq in 2003. Over 8,200 third- through fifth-grade students have walked through our doors, ready to learn. Thinking of you today, Sgt. Bitz.
