Update from Scotty: "I have hired Cody Wright, (Driehaus Award-winning restoration contractor), to oversee and supervise all aspects of the restoration process. He is assembling a team of professionals second to none in the area. "We are also pleased to announce that I have hired Bruce Ferry as principal architect for the Ayers Mansion restoration. He has a stellar reputation for this kind of project."

BIG NEWS! B&B zoning has passed!
- from Nick Draper at the Jacksonville Journal Courier:
"A resolution rezoning a residence at 876 W. State St. from R-1 to R-3 with special use was approved to allow the residence to be used as a bed-and-breakfast while ensuring it would not be turned into apartments in the future. Several neighbors and the owner of the residence thanked the council for their creative thinking in coming to a zoning solution that eased neighbors’ concerns while allowing the business to proceed."

Creative thinking = the City has amended an ordinance to allow the special use B&B permit with R-3 (residential) zoning rather than requiring the multi-family zoning previously required. That's huge. We are thankful.

We made it over the first hurdle! The Plan Commission has approved our zoning/ special use permit for the Bed & Breakfast and we're now headed toward the City Council meeting Monday night. I'm very thankful for all of the support we had, both in-person and in writing.
