City of Jacksonville Film and Television Office Jacksonville is the home of a thriving film & digital media community made up of talented crew technicians and dedicated support businesses.

Jacksonville is the home of a thriving film community made up of talented crew technicians and dedicated support businesses. Centrally located to four neighboring counties, each with a unique flavor and appeal, Jacksonville offers a world of locations and production value at your fingertips. The Film & Television Office assists local and visiting productions with facilitating permits, provides preliminary location scouting and engages the local workforce and vendor resources. The Film Office serves as the liaison between the city, production company, and the local film community. The Film & Television Office has a database of qualified technical staff and support services in the Jacksonville area and publishes an annual Film & Television Production Guide that provides local crew listings, technical support information and local soundstage and facility availability. The production guide is free to all people considering doing business in the Jacksonville area.

🎬 SUBMISSIONS for the 1-year celebration of ‘IndieJAX: An Independent Filmmaker Screening Series’ are now open. The film screening event is hosted by the Jacksonville Film & Television Office and MOCA Jacksonville.

Submit your short films to [email protected] with the subject heading ‘IndieJAX Screening’ along with a link to view the film.

Requirements to submit (include in email):
-Filmmaker(s) affiliation with Jacksonville.
-List the main filming locations.
-Provide a list of the Jacksonville cast and crew with titles.
-Has this film been screened before a public audience in Jacksonville?

Submissions will CLOSE 11:59 pm, Monday, November 2, 2026. A committee will select 3 to 4 short films that will be screened in the MOCA Theater. Selections will be announced shortly after submissions close.

*Important Update: Films that will have their first local public screening, will take top priority when they are being reviewed.

The event will be at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA), located at 333 N Laura St, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Event starts at 6 p.m., with screenings beginning at 7 p.m., followed by a filmmaker Q&A on Wednesday, December 16, 2026. Films will be screened in the MOCA Theater.

Did you know that legendary director Sir Ridley Scott, filmed G.I. JANE in Jacksonville also directed the movies Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Alien, Thelma & Louise and Blade Runner. Scott stated “Jacksonville was a wonderful experience” and praised Jacksonville’s “talented, professional, and dependable crew.”

Cumulatively, his movies have grossed over $5 billion, securing his spot as one of the highest-grossing film directors in history.

Jacksonville based Kennetic Productions (Kennetic Productions) reached a milestone and produced an exceptional documentary, “Preserving the Ponce” alongside the Flagler College marketing team.

Directed by Keagan Anfuso with an almost two-year process, involving in-depth research, dynamic interviews, and hard work, they crafted a story showcasing as well as honoring the cultural significance of this historical institution.

Our recent screening for IndieJAX: An Independent Filmmaker Screening Series brought a lot of excitement to the city.

The four featured short films were shown to a SOLD-OUT theater at Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville and received tons of praise from the audience! Congratulations to the cast and crew behind ‘HEN’, ‘Alana’, ‘Extreme’, and ‘The White Ibis’ for their hard work and dedication to their projects.

Congratulations to Jacksonville Fostering Filmmaker recipient Michael Carter for being recognized by Mayor Donna Deegan on completing his feature film.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Michelle Calloway for being the moderator for the filmmaker Q&A. Her vision of IndieJAX Filmmaker Series is why we can celebrate these selected films in a place like MOCA Jacksonville.

Submissions for the next series will be open on Monday, October 5th. The event will be held on Wednesday, December 16th at the same location, MOCA Jacksonville. Details on submissions coming soon.

Lauren received her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. While at FCSL, Lauren served as President of the FCSL Entertainment Law Society. She was instrumental in the production of the annual FCSL Sports & Entertainment Law Forum.

In addition to her Entertainment Law pursuits, Lauren has over 10 years of experience in Marketing, Business Development, and Consulting.

Scott Thomas Borland - Film Composer

Scott Thomas Borland is a Jacksonville-based composer and multi-instrumentalist whose film work is deeply tied to the city’s own filmmaking community. His credits include feature film ‘The Man in the White Van’, as well as two earlier Jacksonville-filmed and produced projects, ‘Thespians’ and ‘Surfacing: AKA A Letter from My Father’.

Alongside his film work, Scott composes, mixes, and delivers original music for JW Media Music (UK), along with libraries Cinetrax and Liquid Cinema, and is a registered member of ASCAP.

Before his work in film and library music, Scott an early member of Limp Bizkit while based in Jacksonville, contributing material that appeared on Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$ and the band’s next two albums.

As a member of the iconic group 95 South, Carlos continues to tour and perform, sharing his music with audiences across the country. Beyond the stage, he is the owner of Bamboo Hair Studio, a thriving business located in Historic Springfield.

Carlos Spencer’s outstanding contributions to music and the arts have earned him the prestigious Hattie McDaniel Award, recognizing his lasting impact on culture, creativity, and community.

95 South was inducted into the Jacksonville Music Walk of Fame.
