American Legion Florida Post 283 is a part of the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization. We are a non-profit organization.

Our Post received it's charter from the American Legion in 1956. Our Legionnaires, Sons of the Legion, Legion Auxiliary, and the Legion Riders together form what we call our Legion Family!

Our Post received it's charter from the American Legion in 1956 as Arlington Post 283. On 23 May, 2018 a new Charter was signed by American Legion National Commander Denice Rohan changing our Post name to Jim J. Gilleo Post 283. Our Legionnaires, Sons of the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion Riders together form what we call our Legion Family!
