Jim Moore JNPSD School Board Member

Jim Moore JNPSD School Board Member This page was created to provide info to parents of Zone 3 and City Residents.

I established this page a few years ago with the help of, Lida, who did a great job with this and even did a video for me when I first ran for the School Board. Available for comments and concerns about new district, and I want to make sure the students are receiving the very best education available and we have the very best Teachers that have the same ideas about teaching the students.

An outstanding service offered by our Jacksonville Lions Club, thank you and thanks to our dedicated Nurses at JNPSD for doing this most important service!

We School Board members will now have our own meeting facility beginning in July. Jacksonville North Pulaski School District has repurposed the former Pinewood Elementary School facility. We now will not be meeting in the High School Cafeteria. We also have located some of our other Divisions to the facility. So, we invite the public to come to our meetings in our new location.

Just took my oath along with our two newly elected JNPSD Board members for 4 years. Looking forward to our present construction of a new Middle School and Elementary School, which will be called Jacksonville Elementary School. We are looking at opening new Middle School in August and it is a beautiful building. New Elementary School occupied hopefully in January 2022.

With a unanimous vote tonight at a special school board meeting, we members of said board hired Dr. Jeremy Owoh as the JNPSD Superintendent effective July 1, 2021. Dr. Owoh served in JNPSD during the 15-16 planning year and first year of independent operation as Assistant Superintendent.

Dr. Owoh has served as the Assistant Commissioner of Educator Effectiveness at the Arkansas Department of Education, Superintendent of the pine Bluff School District, and Deputy Superintendent of the Little Rock School District. Dr. Owoh's credentials are superb and we welcome him to JNPSD again, this time at the helm of Educating and providing Extra-curricular activities for our Scholars!

We do have some 27 (last count) Educators who have applied for the Assistant Superintendent positions (one vacant and one resigned) as previously reported. Those applicants will be interviewed in next couple or so weeks, so that the selectee can be presented to the School Board for final approval.

The COVID situation seems to be getting much better and we would like to see our Scholars back at school full time.

I am looking forward to serving the next four years as a JNPSD School Board Member. I will be the only one on the ballot for the May 18 election for Zone 3. A map is on our JNPSD WEB site.

We are presently working on obtaining land to use to build a new elementary school to replace M. Taylor and also for land to replace the new elementary school at Bayou Meto.

Our new Middle School and Elementary School are really progressing. Drive by and take a look.

A few words more about this page. I will not allow any National, State, County or City of Jacksonville politics. Also, no "slam-ducking" of any individual/s will be allowed. This is an information page from myself to the parents, residents of Zone 3 and parents and residents City wide. There are other Facebook venues for those kind of activities.

If you have a question/s about the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District, please submit them to me on this page. I will also work to put photos of the construction and other information as possible to keep you informed.

For the New folks coming on, I have been on the School Board since 2016 for the purposes of: 1. Ensuring that our Scholars here
in Jacksonville receive a world class education, either that prepares them for college or going into a technical area career. 2. Secondly, to ensure that our Teachers and Staff receive pay that is appropriate for their education, training and hard work to education and protect our Scholars. 3. To ensure that the Taxpayers here in Jacksonville receive the exceptional Education Facilities that we are in the process of constructing.

We don't want to be like any other School District, we want to enhance the Education Success that this City of Jacksonville, the Scholars deserve along with their parents.

Jacksonville North Pulaski School Board meeting this coming Monday night, 4 January 2021, 600pm. Go to JNPSD Website and watch the virtual meeting.

This coming Monday night will be the School Board meeting. We still hold these publically through our Facebook. Directions are on the District website. The start time is 600pm. One of the highlights of each meeting is a report by our construction company in regards to our new Middle School and next new Elementary School, both under construction right now. One very important part of each school building is a safe, hardened storm room in the form of the Cafeteria and Gym to protect the Scholars and Staff. Both buildings will be two story and will be ADA compliant. Correction each school will have a safe room large enough for Scholars and Staff.
