The Onslow County Health Department reminds everyone to enjoy summer safely. Hot weather, swimming, and outdoor activities can be fun, but it’s important to stay safe and healthy.

Water Safety Tips:
Drowning can happen quickly and quietly. It is a leading cause of death for young children in North Carolina. Keep these tips in mind:
💧Always watch children closely near water
💧Make sure pool gates are closed and locked
💧Learn about water conditions like currents and deep areas
💧Do not swim when you are sick
💧Only swim in clean, well-maintained pools and water areas
💧Stay out of water that looks green, dirty, or has algae

Stay safe and enjoy your summer! ☀️🌊
