🛠️🌱 Service Above Self… with plenty of laughs along the way! 💙💛

Saturday morning, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River rolled up our sleeves at the New River YMCA Youth Center!

Our crew built and filled several large planter boxes, helped fill in an area of the children’s playground, and moved a LOT of dirt—shovel after shovel and wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow. 💪🪴

It was hot, humid, and definitely a workout, but the water was cold, the attitudes were great, and—as always with this club—the laughter was plentiful. We were especially happy to have a couple of community volunteers show up and jump right in alongside us! ❤️

We work hard, serve proudly, and somehow ALWAYS find a way to have a good time doing it. (Let’s just say the wheelbarrows weren't only used for hauling dirt. 😂)

That’s the spirit of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River!

What a great morning of service and fellowship!

Today, several members of the Jacksonville New River Rotary Club came together to build benches for the New River YMCA. We had a great turnout, got a lot accomplished, and had plenty of fun putting the benches together.

Projects like this are what Rotary is all about—serving our community while building friendships along the way.

If you would like to get involved in our community, meet some great people, and have some fun while helping others, come visit us Thursday night at 6:00 PM at the Jacksonville Country Club. We would be happy to welcome you!

Service Above Self in action!

Recently members of the Jacksonville New River Rotary Club came together at the Onslow Community Outreach Distribution Center for a hands-on service project.

Our Rotarians rebuilt and repainted three outdoor benches used by the Zing Zumm Children’s Museum for outdoor activities and programs. It was a great morning of teamwork, service, and giving back to our community.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success!

This week our 2026–2027 committee teams officially met for the first time, and we're excited to get to work! 🎉

From Membership to Finance/Fundraising, Service Projects, and Public Image, our committees are already planning ways to continue making a positive impact throughout our community. Congratulations to our committee chairs—Skip Clarkson, JC Hardee & Bobby Sheegog, Don Herring, and Allison Silva—and thank you to every Rotarian who has stepped up to serve this year.

As we look ahead, we're also celebrating an incredible 2025–2026 Rotary year under the leadership of Past President Ed Dillard, building on the strong foundation laid by Tianna Mosby. Together, our club completed 14 service projects, contributed 413+ volunteer hours, awarded $13,500 in community grants, welcomed five new members, and earned recognition as a District 7730 Club of Distinction. We also led the district once again in Annual Fund giving—a testament to the generosity and dedication of our members.

Here's to another year of Service Above Self! 💙💛

Another successful New River Cleanup in the books! 🌿🗑️

This morning, members of the New River Rotary Club gathered at Jacksonville Landing for our quarterly cleanup, helping keep one of our community's beautiful waterfront areas clean and welcoming.

We were especially excited to have three community volunteers join us—including two teens! Seeing people outside of our club roll up their sleeves to serve alongside us is exactly what community service is all about.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made a difference. Together, we're helping keep the New River beautiful—one cleanup at a time. 💙💛

Service is at the heart of everything we do at the New River Rotary Club. 💙

At this week's meeting, Dr. Don Herring, our Club Service Projects Chair, shared an overview of the many ways our club serves the community—from past accomplishments to current initiatives and exciting projects on the horizon. Thank you, Don, for your leadership and dedication to helping us make a lasting impact.

We also celebrated a special Rotary milestone as Ed Dillard, Past President and current Club Executive Secretary, was presented with his Paul Harris Fellow +7 pin by JC Hardee, our club's Treasurer. Congratulations, Ed, and thank you for your continued commitment to Service Above Self!
