Bible Baptist Church hosted a First Responders Appreciation event on Sunday, September 13th, honoring all first responders of the City of Jacksonville. They recognized Officer Hester for his hard work, dedication to Jacksonville, and for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty.

Thank you, Bible Baptist Church, for the award and for motivating the police department—we are truly grateful for all your support.

NOISE ALERT FOR TOMORROW, 9/12: Low-flying aircraft and cannons will be heard from Camp Robinson throughout the morning tomorrow as part of Camp Robinson's Minuteman Day. ⬇️

Low-flying military aircraft, C-130 Hercules and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, and cannon fire will be heard from Camp Robinson throughout the morning as part of their annual Minuteman Day event.

Cannons will sound at the start of the event and periodically throughout the morning, with cannon fire expected to continue until approximately 11:00 a.m.

The Jacksonville Police Department had a meaningful and busy day honoring the memory of 9/11.

This morning, we attended the 9/11 Memorial Service at Little Rock Air Force Base, where we reflected on the tragedies that took place and remembered the event that forever changed America.

We also joined a lunch hosted by Utility Tri-State, who showed heartfelt gratitude to all police, fire, emergency management officials, and military for their service and dedication.

Today, we honor the fallen heroes of 9/11. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

HEADS UP: A northbound traffic shift onto new pavement, temporary overnight ramp closures and the opening of northbound ramps are scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, September 13 to 5 a.m. Monday, September 14 ⬇️

🚧 TRAFFIC SHIFT, RAMP OPENINGS AND TEMPORARY RAMP CLOSURES ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 🚧
A northbound traffic shift onto new pavement between Main Street (Exit 9) and the Air Force Base (Exit 11) will take place from 8 p.m. Sunday, September 13 through 5 a.m. Monday, September 14.

Two temporary alternating ramp closures will be in place during the traffic shift.
❗️ N James Street off-ramp (Exit 10A) from 8 p.m. to midnight on Sunday
❗️ LRAFB off-ramp (Exit 11) from midnight to 3 a.m. on Monday

Once the traffic shift is complete, several northbound ramps will be open for use.
❗️ N James Street (Exit 10A) on- and off-ramps
❗️ N First Street and JP Wright Loop Road (Exit 10B) on- and off-ramps
❗️ Air Force Base (Exit 11) off-ramp

Traffic will be controlled with message boards, traffic drums, barrier walls and signage. Areas adjacent to Interstate 57 may experience noise impacts during the overnight hours.

We had such a fun time at Festiville on Saturday! We got to catch up with familiar faces, spend time with the kids, and make sure trouble didn’t ruin the fun. We hope everyone had just as much fun as we did — already counting down to next year!

JACKSONVILLE, AR - (UPDATE, SHE HAS BEEN LOCATED) The Jacksonville Police Department is requesting assistance with locating Emma Bazarow. Emma was last seen on 09/07/2026. Emma is 5’6”, approximately 130lbs, with black hair with blue and pink highlights, and blue eyes. Emma is possibly carrying a light pink duffle bag with her and was last seen wearing a gray shirt, dark colored shorts, and black Crocs. Please be aware that W. Main St. from Firestone to Bailey will be closed to through traffic tomorrow for Festiville. The area will be restricted from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM to keep everyone safe during setup, activities, and cleanup. We appreciate your patience and encourage drivers to plan alternate routes to help the day go smoothly for everyone.
