� Originally known as Franklin Street Public School No. 146, Gilbert has serviced the community in a plethora of capacities. Currently known as Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School, MWG has served as a pre-primer through eighth grade campus,
seventh grade center, Junior High School, Junior-Senior High and a dedicated Senior High School. Having been through several significant changes, we are proud to currently serve our students as a Career Exploration Academy with a focus on “Preparing Students to Meet Success Today and Tomorrow!”
A historic campus, with a rich tradition, MWG has received many upgrades to the original structure that could accommodate the growing technological and educational needs of today’s students. A diverse learning community serving a wide array of students, the school has a dedicated faculty and staff of professional educators. We strive to offer our students a rigorous, standards-based curriculum that allows and supports opportunities to think and work creatively, critically and cooperatively in an ever-changing global economy.
