The 2d Marine Division Band and the Band of America's Few is finishing up their rehearsal for Sunday's Stars, Stripes and Sounds event and concert!

We're celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with music in Jacksonville as part of the America 250 Onslow Committee.

This event is June 14, 4-8PM at the Jacksonville Commons Festival Grounds. Concert starts at 6PM. Food trucks, vendors, military displays, beer gardens are more are planned! the event is FREE admission and open to the public.

CWO4 Mark Pellon conductor for the 2d Marine Division Band said, "This is a vision come to light for me. Our goal is to be out in our community and collaborate with others and put together an unforgettable performance for everyone to enjoy!"

We hope to see you there as we celebrate this historic moment with more than a hundred musicians both active military and veterans performing for our City, County and our Country!

Today we celebrate Hadlee Hofman and the Environmental Protection Program at Jacksonville High School for unveiling a new refillable water bottle station at JHS!

Through dedicated fundraising efforts and a partnership with the City of Jacksonville Stormwater team, this project will help to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainability for years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped make this impactful addition to our community.

Traffic Advisory: June 10th | Onsville Drive Lane Closure
----------
Please be advised that the City's Streets Division will begin construction to reshape a stormwater ditch along Onsville Drive on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

A lane of traffic will be closed near the intersection of Onsville Drive & Gum Branch Road, by the Hall of Fame Car Wash. Detour signs will be in place to help direct motorists through the area.

Work is scheduled to begin at 5AM and the lane is expected to reopen by 5PM., weather permitting.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, & use caution when traveling through the work zone. Updates will be provided as work progresses.
