The Jacksonville City Council has called a Special Election for the At‑Large Group 1 City Council seat on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. This election will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Councilman Terrance Freeman. If no candidate receives a majority on August 18, a Special General Election will be held on November 3, 2026. Qualifying runs from Noon June 11 to Noon June 12, 2026.
