From the City of Jacksonville Beach:

The annual 26.2 Donna Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer will take place Sunday, February 1st, 2026. The race will begin at Latham Plaza, Jacksonville Beach and head north into Neptune and Atlantic Beaches, eventually coming back into Jacksonville Beach.

While in Jacksonville Beach, the race will mostly be confined to 1st and 2nd Street North. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. and is expected to conclude by 3:30 p.m. This is a reminder there will be street closings and traffic delays throughout the race route. No vehicles will be permitted to park on impacted city streets beginning Saturday, January 31st after 6 p.m. through Sunday, February 1, until streets are opened for access.

Additionally, if you live or have a business within the race route, we ask that you not set out your Monday trash pickup until after 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon as this could become a hazard to the runners.

Complete information can be found at www.breastcancermarathon.com.

Even though the route is mainly on 1st and 2nd Street North, all avenues east of 3rd Street North between Beach Blvd. and 14th Avenue will be limited to vehicular traffic. There will be officers stationed in intersections and will move vehicles across as runner traffic allows.

What an amazing experience going to work in Tallahassee during out legislative action days to ensure that our representatives have our beaches resident’s input. Great time and thanks to Rep Michaels and senator Yarbrough and of course Black and Duggan.

State management and expansion of Gulf snapper season has been a major boon for our Gulf of America communities, allowing so many Floridians and visitors to enjoy the Red Snapper our waters have to offer.

Today, I was proud to announce that Florida anglers will soon be able to enjoy more Atlantic Red Snapper fishing as well. The Trump Administration has taken action to rein in the bureaucracy and return this power to the states, where it belongs. To that end, Florida has submitted a formal request to the federal government for state management of the recreational red snapper fishery.

Just as it has on the Gulf coast, Florida’s management of Atlantic Red Snapper fishing will boost local economies along our Atlantic coast, supporting tackle and bait shops, hotels, restaurants, and the entire recreational fishing community.

Congratulations to our wonderful Seabreeze Elementary. Now everyone else is reminded what we already know - this school, teachers, students, parents and administration is absolutely amazing!!!

🎉 Proud to announce that San Pablo Elementary has once again earned an "A" rating! 🏆

We've proudly held this distinction for over two decades which is a true testament to the dedicated teachers, hardworking students, supportive families, and amazing community that make San Pablo so special.

Proud to be a San Pablo Sea Turtle!

Thank you our team in Blue for all you do for Jax Beach! Hopefully you can get a little rest. Thanks so much for protecting Jax Beach!

A sincere “thank you” to my staff and volunteers for their sacrifice. Our long-term staff has not had a Fourth of July off since they were in their early 20s. Mandatory work day for everybody…
