Governor DeSantis is calling the Florida Legislature into a special session Monday to vote on a property tax cut proposal that would slash funding for the public services Floridians rely on every day. If the Legislature approves it, the measure goes to voters on the November ballot.

▪ 30% of parks left unmaintained.
▪ 30% of libraries closed.
▪ 30% of after-school programs gone.
▪ 30% of potholes unfilled.
▪ Permit reviews taking 30% longer.

Gov. DeSantis just dropped a new congressional map, and it's exactly what you'd expect.

The proposal hands Republicans an advantage in four Democratic-held seats, targeting Rep. Kathy Castor's Tampa district, Rep. Darren Soto's Orlando district, and redrawing South Florida for Republican gain. Florida is one of the final states moving ahead with mid-decade redistricting, a process kickstarted by President Trump and the White House that we believe is wholly illegal. DeSantis' proposal doubles down on that effort, and we are calling it out.

BREAKING: Florida AG James Uthmeier’s $140,000 salary isn’t cutting it. So he pressured UF into paying him $100,000 for two hours a week of teaching. (The average adjunct professor makes $5,000.) Florida residents are being crushed by rising rent, insurance costs, and grocery bills.. but his “growing family” seems to be the only one that matters.
