Newborn moose calf twins! Nursing from mom! Does it get any cuter?!

In the 1960s in Jackson Hole, cow moose gave birth to twins at a rate of about 10%. Today, however, that number has dropped to between 2-5%, largely due to a decline in suitable habitat due to the changing climate. Getting to see these twins was truly a rare sighting!

Exciting news from Grand Teton National Park! We can confirm that this is !

From ETA Naturalist .to.naturalist: “Long anticipated after she was seen mating last spring, Grizzly Bear 610 (the 20 year old daughter of the late Grizzly 399) has emerged in Grand Teton with two new cubs of the year!

This makes the second confirmed litter of cubs of the year in the park after Grizzly 1063 was spotted with three new cubs a few days ago.

An exciting moment caught on tour in Yellowstone last week! A young male grizzly bear (boar) successfully mated with a much larger female (sow). In total, they hung out like this for 10 minutes; by the end, the female had had enough and snapped at the male, who ambled off.

Spring has some of our critters feeling pretty frisky — and we were lucky enough to witness it!

Did you know that a grizzly’s diet is mostly plant-based? This is especially true of inland bears, like the grizzlies of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Here, as much as 80% of their food intake is vegetation! In this video, a grizzly is feeding on plants and insects as it ambles along.

This week, the EcoTour Adventures crew traded binoculars for trash bags and cleaned up a mile and a half of Highway 22 from Teton Village to the south entrance of Grand Teton National Park — hauling a couple hundred pounds of trash off the roadside in the process!

Pretty awesome effort from the team and a reminder that protecting wild places starts with showing up for them. 🌿♻️
