Jackson Hole Archaeological Initiative / Mercill Archaeology Center The M.A.C. and J.H.A.I. operate under the Jackson Hole Historical Society to promote archaeological education and research in the Greater Yellowstone area

The Jackson Hole Archaeological Initiative (JHAI) is the field research and education division of the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum. We seek to advance archaeological research in the Jackson Hole and Teton region and to promote the education and public collaboration in archaeological methods, interpretation, and practice. While the majority of our research focuses on alpine archaeolog

y and the prehistory of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, our interests and field projects extend across the globe. The majority of our research, analysis, and education programming is based out of the Mercill Archaeology Center in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
