Once again we take a moment to recognize the brave and dedicated men and women of the Jackson Fire Department who stand ready to answer the call, no matter the time, the challenge, or the circumstance.

From emergency responses and protecting lives and property to educating our community and lending a helping hand, our firefighters make a difference every day.

Behind every response are long hours, personal sacrifices, teamwork, and a commitment to serving others. The work isn’t always easy, and the challenges aren’t always seen, but our firefighters continue to show up with courage, compassion, professionalism, and pride.

We pause again to recognize and celebrate the dedicated men and women of the Jackson Fire Department who proudly answer the call to serve our community.

Whether responding to an emergency, helping a family in need, educating our citizens, or simply being there when someone needs help, our firefighters serve with courage, compassion, and professionalism.

Your commitment often comes with sacrifice, long hours, and challenges that others may never see. We are grateful for the difference you make every day in the lives of the citizens of Jackson.

As we close out another week, I want to take a moment to thank the men and women of the Jackson Fire Department for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community. Every day, you continue to show what it means to be Always Ready.

We continue to make progress; one improvement, one challenge, and one small win at a time. I’m proud of the work being done across our department and grateful for everyone who continues to move JFD forward.

As we head into the Labor Day weekend, I encourage everyone to take some time to rest, enjoy your family and friends, and recharge. If you’re traveling or spending time outdoors, please make safety a priority.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, check on those who may need a little extra care, and enjoy the holiday weekend!

The Jackson Fire Department extends our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Amellia Langford, Mrs. Debbie Cannon and Mrs. Pat Anderson for their generous donation of a 25th Anniversary 9/11 banner, commemorating the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

This meaningful banner serves as a powerful reminder of the 343 firefighters and all the first responders and innocent lives lost that day. Their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to others will never be forgotten.

Thank you for helping us keep their memory alive and honoring the legacy of those who gave everything in service to others. ❤️

We were honored to welcome Hinds County Chancery Court Judge Tametrice E. Hodges to our monthly WMPR 90.1 radio show!

Judge Hodges joined us to talk about the upcoming “Barbecue & Bravery” Firefighter Appreciation Luncheon, which she will be hosting for the men and women of the Jackson Fire Department on September 11.

We are grateful for her support, appreciation, and commitment to recognizing the firefighters who serve our city of Jackson community every day.

We’re starting to see some movement as we continue working toward upgrading the Jackson Fire Department’s emergency alerting system with MACH Alert.

This investment is about more than technology. It’s about faster, more reliable notifications and improved response readiness for the men and women who answer the call.

We’re excited to see this important project moving forward. Sometimes, progress comes one step at a time, and we have to celebrate the small wins along the way!
