Energy Conservation Works

Energy Conservation Works We work in partnership with a wide spectrum of organizations to implement and advocate for energy conservation and emissions reduction in Jackson Hole.

In 2009, former World Bank President James Wolfensohn inspired our community leaders, including former Mayor Mark Barron, to transform Jackson Hole in to a leader in energy conservation and use our special history and landscape to share the message, encouraging people around the world to act. Leaders from the Town of Jackson, Teton County, and Lower Valley Energy created Energy Conservation Works,

a joint powers board with board members from each of the three entities, as well as citizen board members, with the goal of achieving significant energy conservation and reducing our carbon footprint. That mission remains today.

Business owners, managers, and facilities folks — this one’s for you.

This Saturday at 12:30 at EcoFair, join Energy Conservation Works and Molly Reilly of for a conversation about real-world efficiency projects that actually pencil out: refrigeration, lighting, solar, incentives, and other cost-saving upgrades. Molly will share practical lessons from her work helping beverage companies lower costs and reduce emissions, and ECW will connect the discussion to local financing and funding opportunities.

Warmer temperatures, more rain, and an early start to spring have a lot of people asking the same question: What does this mean for our homes?

03/25/2026

One of the things EcoFair is known for: doing “zero waste” the real way.

EcoFair runs with reusable serviceware, a central waste diversion station, and volunteers (the EcoFair Green Team) helping keep as much as possible out of the landfill. Over the years, that approach has helped EcoFair average about 85–90% waste diversion.

And this year—please bring your reusable cups with you! EcoFair 2026 is Saturday, May 16 (afternoon) at Phil Baux Green Space (base of Snow King).
