This tiger, Adetokunbo "Toks" Omishakin, M.A., is blazing trails in the state of California as he was selected by the Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency. Making history continues to be our habit among the graduates of the department of urban and regional planning at Jackson State University.

Everyone say congrats to Adetokunbo “Toks” Omishakin! California Govenor Gavin Newsom recently appointed Omishakin Secretary of the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA).

Omishakin, 44, makes history as the first African American to serve in that cabinet-level position responsible for overseeing all state agencies that regulate and support transportation and administer services related to the sector.
