Congratulations to 5 of our Jackson Firefighters who completed their Technical Rope Rescue Operations class today! They spent three full days putting in the work at the Wellston Fire Training Academy.

It wasn’t easy—long days, lots of hands-on training—but these guys showed up ready to learn and push themselves. It’s all part of staying sharp and making sure we’re ready for whatever comes our way.

Proud to have such dedicated members on the team who are always working to get better for the community!

The Jackson Fire Department is proud to announce a significant advancement in its ability to provide emergency & rescue services to the citizens of Jackson.

Recently, nine members successfully completed the required examinations to achieve national accreditation as Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). This accomplishment reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to professional development and high-quality service.

As a result, the department’s current staffing now includes:
• 1 Paramedic
• 3 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs)
• 8 Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs)

This increase in certified personnel strengthens the department’s capacity to assist the Jackson County Emergency Medical Services.

Press Release from the Ohio State Fire Marshal

Job well done to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. We thank you for your swift and dedicated efforts in capturing the suspect responsible for injuring two of our firefighters.

On Thursday evening, two of our bravest entered the structure to conduct a primary search following a report of confirmed entrapment. Thankfully, both firefighters were able to escape and sustained only minor, non-life-threatening burns and injuries. They were initially treated at Holzer Medical Center and later referred to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Burn Unit for further evaluation.

This department continues to go above and beyond in answering the call of duty. I could not be more proud of these men.
