Do you have an edge of field area that struggles to produce for you? Consider putting in a buffer strip! Here's a local photo that shows a field edge next to the Milwaukee River. The farmer here is harvesting his buffer for hay and getting paid to do it! The buffer catches valuable nutrients before they can leave the field and the community gets cleaner water. Its a win win!

Here's a quick local video of some drone seeding of cereal rye into some soybeans. The plan is to harvest the soybeans before the rye gets to far along and then to maybe graze some of the rye this fall and in the spring before next planting season. Who's out there planting cover crops and what are you planting?

This walk will focus on fencing and watering systems on a beef cow/calf grazing operation—an essential part of building an efficient, resilient grazing system. The farm store will also be open following the event!
