We're bringing together residents, churches, schools, businesses, and community organizations to help keep Jackson clean and beautiful. Whether you can give a few hours or join us for multiple cleanup days, we'd love to have you.

On June 3, 2026, the 60th Anniversary of the James Meredith March Against Fear Commemorative Dinner was held at Char Restaurant in Jackson, MS. Nic Lott, Director of Communications, Office of the Mayor, City of Jackson, MS, served as Master of Ceremonies and presented James Meredith with a key to the city on behalf of Mayor John Horhn. Looking on was Meredith’s trusted caregiver Amanda Taylor. A bust by artist Michelle Drane Smith honoring the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of Meredith was also presented. Special tributes were made by Dr. Flonzie Brown Wright, Reena Evers-Everette, Henry Gallagher, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Rep. Justin Jones, and Phil Noble. (Photos courtesy of Damien Blaylock)
