This is the official page of the 172nd Airlift Wing in Jackson, Mississippi.

The C-17 Globemaster III is the newest, most flexible cargo aircraft to enter the airlift force. The C-17 is capable of rapid strategic delivery of troops and all types of cargo to main operating bases or directly to forward bases in the deployment area. The aircraft can perform tactical airlift and airdrop missions and can also transport litters and ambulatory patients during aeromedical evacuati

ons when required. The inherent flexibility and performance of the C-17 force improve the ability of the total airlift system to fulfill the worldwide air mobility requirements of the United States.

The nerve center of the 172nd Maintenance Group is the maintenance production supervisor, responsible for tracking and scheduling service and repair of our C-17 Globemaster III fleet. This no-fail position ensures the maintenance operation continues without interruption and every jet is ready to fly.

Earlier this month, the 172nd Civil Engineer Squadron celebrated the promotion of Lt. Col. Wesley Roberts!

Lt. Col. Roberts serves as the 172 CES commander, as well as the Base Engineer of the 172nd Airlift Wing. He's responsible for base development, contract project management, environmental engineering, technical design and asset management.

Recently, the 172nd Airlift Wing celebrated the military career and achievements of Col. Teri Dawn Neely after serving in the Mississippi Air National Guard for 37 years.

Col. Neely enlisted with the 183rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron as an Airman Basic. Across her career, she has served in multiple contingency and domestic operations and has impacted the lives and careers of countless service members along the way.
