π¨ Meet Indigenous Artist HarmonyStar Straub at Colter Bay!
Join us June 16β22 at the Colter Bay Visitor Center for the Indigenous Arts & Cultural Demonstration Program featuring HarmonyStar Straub, an Oglala Lakota and Northern Cheyenne artist, enrolled in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and residing in western Nebraska.
Harmony's work is deeply rooted in cultural preservation. She learned sewing and beadwork from her grandmother over 36 years ago and continues using those traditional methods. She works to share her grandmother's knowledge and teachings with future generations. As a fashion designer, Harmony has had the privilege of showcasing her work across the country and internationally. She also serves as an educator and mentor working with a Native American youth su***de-prevention program using cultural knowledge and artistic traditions as a tool to combat the epidemic of su***de within Native communities.
