Staff from the Area Agency on Aging District 7 recently participated in both basic and advanced Microsoft Excel training to learn new tools and enhance their proficiency with the system. Special thanks to staff from Pike County Community Action/Ohio Means Jobs for providing three days of comprehensive instruction at the AAA7’s Training Center in Jackson. The AAA7 is committed to supporting continuing education opportunities for staff to increase knowledge and understanding to better serve our communities.

In 2025, Pro Seniors Legal Assistance handled 9,632 legal matters, had 14,045 Legal Helpline appointments, and assisted 8,457 clients including 959 veteran clients and 5,000 clients with a disability.

Pro Seniors’ statewide Legal Helpline offers Ohio residents aged 60 and over free access to legal information and advice to help resolve issues that threaten their well-being and financial security.

Our staff attorneys provide legal representation to older adults in Southwest Ohio. These services address complex legal issues rarely handled by private attorneys, including Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, other public benefits, financial exploitation, consumer law, and housing. Representation may include negotiation or litigation. In addition, our Pension Project assists Ohioans of all ages in securing the retirement benefits they are entitled to receive. The AAA7 recently held an in-person All-Staff Training at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth. The day gave staff the opportunity to listen to relevant presentations while earning CEUs and meeting with service providers and community organizations during the event's Provider Fair. Presentations surrounded topics such as Medicare, fraud, disability etiquette, and workplace violence/de-escalation techniques. Speakers represented the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program, and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. The AAA7 provides several training opportunities for staff throughout the year to support continuing education and expanded knowledge of important topics and subjects relevant to support the Agency's Mission.
