Happening over at Switlik School - Principal Saulnier called on our entire building to celebrate the Switlik "Clean Team!" Whenever something is needed - our custodians are always ready and willing to help. Today we thank them with cheers, high fives, cards, bulletin board displays, and a ton of treats just to show our appreciation for all that they do. It was such an amazing moment for all!

Some news to start your day ~ 1st Graders at H.C. Johnson Elementary School learned about the life cycle of birds by hatching chicks in their classrooms. The students observed the eggs throughout their 21 day incubation. Everyone was very excited when we came in one May morning to find that 12 of our 21 eggs had hatched. Students had opportunities to bond with the chicks as they learned about the features of birds and discussed the stages of a chicken's life cycle. It was a fun experience for our entire school!

Back in the spring, the Elms JTAG Third Grade Enrichment class celebrated their success by inviting their families to their Food Truck Grand Opening. Led by Sheryl Konopack, each student researched food trucks, surveyed friends and family regarding their interests, and developed a business plan. With marketing, advertising, and good ‘ol creativity, each child brought their idea to life. It was a tasty time!

On March 24th, Mrs. Steider-Jones's class over at Holman Elementary school had their Ellis Island "Cultural Heritage Day." Students made family trees to show what countries that they are all from and then groups worked to teach each other about what it was like coming through Ellis Island. The class ended their celebration sampling a variety of food items from each of their families backgrounds. What an enjoyable and creative way to learn about one another!

The Jackson Education Association is always happy when we see our elementary students taking an interest in government and policies, especially locally here our beautiful home state of New Jersey.

Recently our Crawford-Rodriguez Third Graders took a field trip to the State House in Trenton after learning about the Three Branches of Government in Social Studies. Students took a tour of the State House, met Assemblyman Sauickie, and participated in the Make-A-Law Program!

We’re so excited that our district and staff made this experience happen. It will be a day that these students remember for years to come!

"We want to thank JEA Pride/FAST for your support with our special event... Our Jackson Township High School Special Education Annual Reunion Dance! We had a successful dance on Friday, May 8th with your help! Our theme this year is PIRATES! Former and current students and their families join us for a fun night of dinner and dancing. We crowned a King and Queen of the dance! The Art Honor Society volunteered to provide face painting. It's an event that started 25 years ago and we hope continues for years to come." ~ Jackson Teacher & JEA Member, Elizabeth Marvin

The Jackson Township Middle School proudly welcomed its newest members into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) during a special induction ceremony held on May 28, 2026. Stacey Fisk, Adviser proudly welcomed family members, teachers, and administrators to gather to recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.

During the ceremony, current NJHS members shared the significance of the organization's core values and led the traditional candle-lighting presentation. Inductees were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to making a positive impact within the school and community.

The event celebrated the achievements of the new members and encouraged them to continue serving as role models for their peers. It was also the first induction for students at JTMS as they have merged from two middle schools into one, beginning a new Jackson tradition.Congratulations to all of the newly inducted NJHS members at Jackson Township Middle School!

Check out the news sent to us from the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program over at Jackson Township High School. Twenty-four students from JTHS participated in a year-long mentoring program through the Big Brothers Big Sisters partnership with Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. JTHS School Counselors Ariety Fellenz and Sue Kratz oversee the program.

Throughout the year, students received personalized mentoring and career exploration opportunities from hospital staff. Bi-monthly visits included meeting with mentors, attending presentations, and touring a variety of hospital departments, including the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Pharmacy, Radiology, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Food Service/Dietetics. Students also participated in hands-on learning experiences using medical equipment, including the Da Vinci robotic surgical system.

The program provided valuable insight into healthcare careers while helping students build confidence, communication skills, and professional relationships.
