🚨 MLBC REDISTRICTING UPDATE

Mississippi may be headed toward another redistricting fight—but here’s what you need to know:

The Callais decision does NOT require Mississippi to redraw its legislative or congressional maps right now.

If state leaders choose to pursue mid-decade redistricting, Mississippians deserve to see the process, see the maps, understand the data, and have a meaningful opportunity to be heard before decisions are made.

In our letter to leadership, MLBC is calling for:

📍 Public hearings across Mississippi
📺 Livestreamed proceedings
🗣️ Meaningful community input
🗺️ Public access to proposed maps
📊 Transparency about the data and people behind the maps
📄 Public committee findings and reports before legislative action

🧑🏾‍💻Read our letter here: https://www.msblackcaucus.com/post/mlbc-redistricting-update-our-voices-our-power-our-future

MLBC will continue providing updates and will host town halls and convenings with partners to help communities understand what’s happening and how to get involved. First up is Okolona this Saturday!

Pay attention. Show up. Speak out. Check your voter status. And VOTE.

Our voices. Our power. Our future.

STAY ENGAGED. STAY READY. VOTE!

Every Mississippian has a role in building the state we envision — and this week, these leaders are stepping into theirs. @ Tunica is about more than one session; it's about the communities they'll go on to activate.
