Children’s Transport Services - Children’s of Mississippi

Children’s Transport Services - Children’s of Mississippi Twitter:
Instagram: The pediatric team was founded in August of 2010.

The neonatal team was started in the 1970s with the first official ambulance being purchased in 1979. This team is also able to transport by helicopter via AirCare, if the patient’s condition is time sensitive. Our ambulances are specially designed and equipped to provide care for all neonatal and pediatric patients. Our teams transport these young patients to Children's of Mississippi, the state'

s only facility devoted exclusively to the care of sick and injured children. The combination of cutting-edge equipment, advanced protocols, and experienced medical teams provides young patients with a higher level of care usually found in emergency and critical care transport services. Our clinical teams consist of registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and critical care paramedics. All of which having extensive lists of certifications and furthered education. We also have drivers whom are emergency medical technicians that drive the clinical staff and take care of all ambulance operations. Some of our nurses and nurse practitioners also work in neonatal intensive care units and our hospital’s pediatric emergency room as well as our pediatric intensive care unit. The paramedics and EMT’s also work for local 911 ambulance services and fire departments as firefighters. All crew members go through ongoing training and yearly competencies to remain skillful and knowledgeable with the constant changing of medicine. It is a challenge to remain up to date but not one that our clinicians take lightly. Our program is responsible for much training for outside providers as well, and is involved in teaching many classes like STORK, S.T.A.B.L.E., and PARTNER all over Mississippi. Mission Statement:

Children's Transport is a specialized team of highly skilled and knowledgeable clinicians who strive to deliver the highest level of neonatal and pediatric care. We emphasize education while providing resources to further improve the quality of care across our state. Our goal is to help reduce morbidity and mortality with improved outcomes while maintaining safety as our priority. Team Capabilities:
