Let’s get into the w**ds with Erika Edmiston, the District Supervisor! 🌱 In her role at the District Erika “keeps all the balls in the air.” She loves what she does, she loves the team they’ve assembled, their successes are shared! She joined the District on the seasonal crew in 2000 and she’s seen firsthand the difference the programs have made in the valley over the years.

Erika is deeply motivated in the prioritization of public health through their robust and proactive programs to benefit generations to come.

More of Erika in the field and behind the drone soon.

⚠️ TCWP seeks help to curb Phragmites spread!

Phragmites, an invasive grass, can reach 20 feet tall 🤯 and produces up to 2,000 seeds per panicle. First spotted in Teton County in 2023, it has been found in 27 locations. Its presence in natural areas suggests wildlife and human activities may be aiding its spread.

While it’s invasive, a native subspecies exists, making identification tricky. A simple lab test now helps distinguish between the two. Of the 27 locations, only one has been confirmed as the native subspecies.

❗ We need your help! You can assist by:
- Joining WYLD Watch and reporting findings to TCWP (use EDDMaps app or the Report Infestation form at tcw**d.org)
- Cleaning shoes 👞 and gear post-recreation
- Brushing pets 🐶 for seeds after hikes
- Cleaning construction 🚧 equipment
- Using certified w**d-free materials and checking for contaminants
