TCSD is aware of an emergency situation that occurred at a local grocery store within the last 30 minutes that resulted in a significant law enforcement presence. There was no thread or security issue at any of our schools during this incident. We appreciate the quick action of local emergency responders and their communication with our District.

This week our food service contractor, Sodexo, sponsored the second annual Future Chef Program. Elementary students in grades 3–5 developed a unique recipe and worked side-by-side with a Sodexo chef to prepare their dishes. Students then presented their creations to a panel of judges, explaining their thinking, process, and choices. This experience exemplifies personalized learning in action. Students demonstrated communication through public speaking, collaboration through teamwork in the kitchen, critical thinking and problem solving through recipe design and ex*****on, and confidence and leadership by presenting their work to an authentic audience. Learning experiences like this help students apply academic skills in real-world contexts while developing the durable life skills essential for success beyond graduation.
