Yesterday, we truly saw community in action for Domestic Violence Awareness Month! 💜
Yesterday's event was a powerful reminder that Jackson County stands with survivors and that the community partners we have the privilege of working alongside are truly unmatched.
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible speakers, the community organizations who joined us to share their resources, Rustic Creek Creations by Robin Mesack DuBois for supporting our event T-shirts, and SOAR Café & Farms for welcoming us into their space!
We left yesterday feeling inspired by our fellow community organizations, grateful for everyone who showed up in support, and empowered to continue advocating for survivors.
This is what community in action looks like. 💜

People tell us they almost didn't call because they weren't sure it was “bad enough.” There is no threshold. A call to AWARE can be a question. It can be “I don't know what this is.” It can be about someone else.
An advocate will not tell you what to do. They will listen, share information and options, and then it is yours to decide. 💜

During the week of October 26-30, people across South Central Michigan will come together to complete 1,000 Acts of Care through volunteerism, service and community engagement.

For 15 years, Men Who Cook has brought together great food, friendly competition, and our community in support of AWARE! 🍴💚

As we get ready for this year’s event, we’re looking back at some of the fun from years past, and getting excited to do it all again on November 6th!

There’s still time to be part of the evening, too! Tickets are available now, and sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses and organizations that would like to support AWARE and be part of this community tradition.

We can’t wait to savor the flavor with you! 🍽️

This month, AWARE is especially in need of baby formula, diapers, and Kleenex to help support survivors and families staying in shelter.
Every donation, big or small, helps us provide essential everyday items to those we serve. 💜
