Sometimes hope looks like a meal. Sometimes it looks like rent assistance, summer camp, or a safe place to sleep.

Today, we delivered 200 cleanup kits to Wiggins EMA to support families as they begin the long, difficult process of recovering from the recent flooding.

Our teams remain ready to provide additional support as needs are identified, working alongside emergency management and local partners across our impacted communities.

We are always deeply grateful that when disaster strikes, our communities are so quick to turn compassion into action. You ask how you can help. You give. You join us in prayer. You step forward.

Because of your generosity, we are able to respond quickly and turn your care into practical help for disaster survivors.

In a world full of noise, Positive Media Day gives us a chance to focus on what matters: sharing hope, lifting others, and pointing people toward help.

That’s why The Salvation Army uses every communication tool we have: social media, website, and newsletters, to reach as many people as possible with messages of encouragement, ways to serve, local updates, volunteer opportunities, and resources for families.

Our channels are here for you!📰

Huge thanks to every person who follows along, shares, and helps spread good news in our community.

We are grateful to work alongside the Picayune Fire Department, local first responders, and community leaders in supporting our neighbors through the difficult days ahead.

Today, we delivered 200 cleanup kits to the Picayune Fire Department to help neighbors begin cleanup after recent flooding impacted homes and neighborhoods across the community.

Each kit includes practical supplies families can use as they take the first steps toward recovery. But it is also a powerful reminder that they are not walking through this alone, but have a community standing with them.

In the days ahead, we will continue working with community leaders across impacted areas in Louisiana and Mississippi as needs change and recovery continues.

Please join us in praying for every individual and family impacted and for those helping our neighbors recover.

A father’s love has a way of anchoring a family, offering stability when life feels uncertain and encouragement when the road gets tough ⚓️

His influence is not limited to one generation, but rather ripples outward, shaping who we become and how we love others.

Today, at The Salvation Army, we honor the dads and father figures who lead with heart and strengthen the families in our community.❤️

Happy Father’s Day from all of us! 👔✨

Flood recovery is underway across the South after Tropical Storm Arthur flooding impacted homes and neighborhoods in our region.

The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services USA team is responding in communities including Houma, Simmesport, St. Charles Parish, Perkinston, and Avondale thus far.

We provided meals and drinks to some affected neighbors, but currently, the greatest need is cleanup support for families facing water-damaged homes. Cleanup kits are being provided to help neighbors begin the hard work of recovery.

This is why we exist — to meet human need in Jesus’ name, offering practical help and hope when our neighbors need it most.

We are grateful for the teams, partners, and volunteers serving families as they navigate the difficult road ahead.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. A day of freedom long delayed, and a reminder of the generations who endured unimaginable injustice.

It is a time to remember, to honor, and to reflect on the lives, stories, and courage of those who fought for liberation.

But Juneteenth also calls us to look honestly at the present, because while slavery was legally abolished, exploitation and modern slavery still exist today, affecting vulnerable individuals and communities across the world.

The Salvation Army continues that fight today through our anti‑human trafficking programs, walking alongside survivors with love, safety, dignity, compassion, and hope.

We believe honoring the past means choosing how we live today, supporting one another, extending grace, treating every person with respect, and serving in ways that protect freedom and uphold humanity.

At every summer camp, young lives are shaped in the most beautiful ways: around campfires, in cabins, during worship, and through friendships that last long after the season ends. ☀️

Because of your generosity, children in our community get to enjoy a summer filled with adventure and encouragement, at a place where they can feel safe, have fun, and discover who God made them to be.

Your kindness opens the door to memories they’ll carry for years! 💛✨
