πŸ’œ September is National Recovery Month.

National Recovery Month celebrates individuals in recovery from mental and substance use disorders, recognizes the dedicated professionals who support them and promotes evidence-based practices that help make recovery possible.

Recovery looks different for everyone, but no one has to walk the journey alone.

This month, we celebrate progress, honor those in recovery and recognize the families, treatment providers and communities helping people build healthier futures.

πŸ”Ž Behind every outbreak investigation are public health professionals working to connect the dots.

On World Field Epidemiology Day, we recognize the epidemiologists who track diseases, investigate health threats and use data to help protect communities across Mississippi.

Their work often happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in detecting outbreaks early, understanding how diseases spread and helping guide public health response.

Today, we celebrate Mississippi's disease detectives and the work they do every day to keep our communities healthy.
