🌿 We’re excited to announce that a new community garden is taking root in Wilson!

In partnership with Slow Food in the Tetons , we’re bringing a new garden to our Wilson Campus, affectionately known as “Mad Dog,” which will feature 46 individual plots and expand the Community Gardens Program by approximately 30 families and residents. A 19% increase from 2025!

This new garden site expands access to growing space and provides a unique opportunity for place-based learning, offering a space for the community to learn, collaborate, and deepen their relationship with the natural world.

We’re thrilled to partner with Slow Food in the Tetons to make this garden a reality and celebrate their leadership in creating programs rooted in good, clean, and fair food for all. 🌱

This project was made possible through grant funding in partnership with Teton Conservation District, which supported building the community garden and ensured best practices were implemented throughout the process.

We recently chatted with Liz Jorgenson, local realtor, about our Wildlife Risk Reduction Program! Check it out here: 👇

"While most of us are focused on Santa, skiing, and the first big snowfall… winter is actually the best time to plan ahead for wildfire season. Did you know Teton County homeowners can get a free wildfire risk assessment and up to $3,000 in matching grant funding?

I recently teamed up with Teton Conservation District to walk through a real assessment on my home, and it was eye-opening how small changes can make a big impact.

What to know:
✔️ Free assessment by wildfire specialists
✔️ Personalized recommendations
✔️ Up to $3,000 in matching grant funding
✔️ Simple reimbursement steps
✔️ A meaningful way to protect your home and our community

Wildfire inspection season opens again April 15–October 15, so winter is the ideal time to learn about the program and to set up your spring visit."

Have you ever wondered how real-time streamflow and water quality data is supported in Teton County? Teton Conservation District and Snake River Fund collaborate with the US Geological Survey to operate twelve streamgages in Teton County, including those on the Snake and Gros Ventre Rivers, Fish Creek, and Flat Creek.

Through this partnership, a long-term water quality monitoring station was established on the Hoback River, giving the public and water managers access to continuous data since 2022. In addition, temperature sensors were installed at several Snake River and tributary gages, helping deepen our understanding of changing river conditions. Jackson Hole One Fly provided critical funding in 2023, allowing this work to continue into 2025.

This kind of collaboration strengthens our shared understanding of watershed health and supports sound decision-making across the community. 🌊

Big shoutout to Snake River Fund for helping bring real-time river data to our community! 💧📊

Our team is thrilled for the success our community partner, Teton Conservation District, had in clearing invasive species up Game Creek in 2025. Read their highlights below! 🔥👇

“Another successful year of volunteer w**d control in Game Creek is in the books. This year, volunteer w**d warriors made a big impact by contributing 466 hours of work, a 132% increase from last year! Together, they pulled nearly 25,000 musk thistle rosettes and prevented an estimated 331 million seeds from taking root - a record season. What began in 2019 as a small, determined crew has grown into a thriving community effort that’s inspiring agency partners, non-profits, students, and volunteers to adopt similar restoration work.”

💥 Congratulations to all the Teton Conservation crew and volunteers for their substantial conservation work this year! Want to get involved with their W**d Warriors in 2026? Sign up now ➡️ https://loom.ly/NYDj8wY

Teton Conservation District is proud to announce Frances Clark as the recipient of the 2025 Teton Conservation Vision Award. Frances’s deep knowledge, tireless volunteerism, and passion for the natural world continue to make a lasting impact on conservation in Teton County.

Frances wears many hats—botanist, educator, communicator, mentor—and at the heart of it all is her genuine love for plants, especially flowers, and her desire to spark that same connection in others.

In her words: "I am deeply grateful that I have had some influence on people's appreciation of this remarkable world about us... I truly hope that people express their gratitude by deed, whether it is to pass along the delight, write a letter, or attend a meeting. Seeds grow into flowers that produce more seeds (with the help of flitting pollinators...) what is more miraculous than that!"
