Something new is growing in Jackson.

“Market and a Movie” is a new, community-focused, culturally collaborative event series created by Magnolia Markets and the Mississippi Film Society, soft-launching during 601 Day Weekend at Market.

This first experience is intentionally intimate — blending film, music, storytelling, commerce, and culture inside one unique space.

The evening will feature:
• A boutique vendor market experience
• Sounds by DJ Java
• A screening of “Flower” at 6PM
• A filmmaker Q&A with Kansas Gray & Coke Bumaye
• Community, conversation, and creative energy

This is a pilot experience designed to explore what’s possible when intentional spaces are created for people who live at the intersection of storytelling, culture, music, and art.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of their selfless service. 🇺🇸

Thank you to the City of Jackson - Planning & Developmentfor helping make Economic Development Week, National Travel & Tourism Week, and National Small Business Week a phenomenal success across our city. From celebrating entrepreneurs and small businesses to highlighting tourism, redevelopment, and collaboration, the week showcased the momentum building throughout Jackson.
