During the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, we want to express what a privilege it is to know and work with the counties that were so deeply affected by this tragedy; the officials and citizens who worked without stopping to bring their counties back.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast was ripped apart, but in the aftermath, there was never a thought of giving up, of packing bags and moving out. Elected officials and employees alike rolled up their sleeves and got to work to rebuild and bring back their beloved Coast, all of this while fighting the personal battles with which everyone was struggling. Thank you for not giving up. Thank you for bringing back the Coast so that all of us may enjoy its beauty.

It has been said that Hurricane Katrina brought out the best in people and nowhere was that more evident than on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
