Six Flags Fire Department Proudly serving the Six Flags Great Adventure resort and surrounding areas since 1973. Our department is responsible an approximately 3.4 square mile property.

The Six Flags Fire Department is a paid - professional entity operating underneath the umbrella of the park’s Safety Department. Our team, along with the members of Six Flags Emergency Medical Services, provide emergency response to the Great Adventure Complex similar to any municipality in the State of New Jersey. This includes a large theme park, water park, safari, and hundreds of acres of unde

veloped woodlands. The SFFD is staffed by qualified Firefighters certified through the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety. To better serve our guests and employees, all Firefighters hold valid EMT-Basic certifications with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services. The department is designated by the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office as Station 58. We work closely with surrounding government agencies to insure the safety of our guests and employees. Additionally, when requested, we provide assistance to our local communities through mutual aid agreements with Monmouth and Ocean counties. Our mission is to provide the safest experience for our guests and employees, insuring that Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, and Wild Safari remain the best place to be in New Jersey.

During Memorial Day weekend, day shift firefighters participated in Confined Space Operations training.

A confined space is an enclosed or partially enclosed work area that is large enough for a person to enter but is not designed for continuous human occupancy and has restricted means of egress.

The department regularly trains in this field as we continue to support the resort’s maintenance and operations teams.

Today is a historic day for the Jackson Township Fire Service. At 6am this morning our career staff came on duty for their first 24 hour shift.

This takes our career staff of 3 platoons and covering 6am - 6pm on weekdays and alternating weekends, and breaks them into 4 platoons covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our platoons will be staffed by:
A Platoon - Lt. Justin Hanson, Dylan Dziedzic, and Jonathan Bosley
B Platoon - Lt. Jason Zimmerman, Adam Poppe, and Ryan Calhoun
C Platoon - Lt. John Poppe III, Andrew Reaves, and Chris Bizzarro
D Platoon - Lt. Jesse Langguth, Ryan Schulte, and Nate Shirley

This does not mean an end to our volunteer companies. They will still provide the same round the clock coverage as always.

If you or someone you know would like to become a volunteer, stop by your local firehouse to join!
