Our volunteer fire department is only as strong as the community that supports us. So we would like to give a special Thanks to Ace Hardware of Bridgeport. Their support and donation of a Milwaukee "M18" chainsaw will help us to better serve our community.

South to southwest winds gusting upwards of 25 to 30 mph, minimum relative humidity values around 15 to 20%, above normal temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s, and brief periods of
sunshine will result in an elevated fire weather threat this afternoon. The main concern will be for dormant fuels where these conditions will align, mainly west of the I-35 corridor.
Extreme care is urged during all outside activities where there is a potential for grass fires to get started. Avoid outside burning and welding. Do not toss lit cigarette butts outside.
