As of 9 am, our EMTs have been out twice this Easter Sunday on medical emergency calls. One call just before 2 am, and another call just before 5:30 am. We are hoping that the rest of the day is quiet.

April 4, 2026: Jackman – Moose River Fire & Rescue Department EMTs and Firefighters have responded to three Motor Vehicle Accidents in the last two weeks.

1. March 22nd – A pickup being driven south on Route 201 down the Sky Lodge hill in Moose River slid across and off the snow-covered road and struck a utility pole. The driver was not hurt.

2. March 31st – A small SUV being driven south down the Falls Rest Area hill on Route 201 in Sandy Bay Township slid off the slop-covered road, spun around, and ended up against trees. Due to the angle of the vehicle, the passenger side doors of the vehicle could not be opened. Firefighters had to cut two small trees that were up against the driver’s side of the vehicle so that the driver’s door could be opened. The driver and passenger were not hurt.

3. April 3rd – Late last night, just after 11:15 pm, a pickup headed south on Route 201 - apparently at a high rate of speed - struck the guardrail on the northwest corner of the bridge over the Moose River in Jackman. The pickup flipped end over end and landed on its side in the north bound lane on the bridge. The driver was seriously injured and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Your local EMTs and Firefighters ask that you please drive cautiously and safely at all times, especially when there is snow and/or ice on the road. And please do not drive distracted and/or under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
