Training Announcement: Ready to strengthen your sheltering skills?

Bucks County Emergency Management is hosting an all-day Mass Care Sheltering Training in partnership with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, 9/9/26, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

This training is designed for EMCs and first responders who want to become more familiar with the fundamentals of mass care sheltering. The American Red Cross, a leader in disaster response and mass care sheltering, will provide the instruction and subject-matter expertise for this training.

Upon successful completion, participants will be qualified as American Red Cross Shelter Supervisors and gain a better understanding of sheltering operations.

• Date: Wednesday, 9/9/26
• Time: 8 AM to 5 PM
• Location: Bucks County Training Center, Doylestown
• Lunch: 1-hour lunch break
• Food: No food will be provided, so please plan accordingly

The US National Weather Service Philadelphia/Mount Holly has issued a FLOOD WATCH for BUCKS COUNTY TODAY, 8/27 from 12 PM until Friday, 8/28 at 4 AM. There is also potential for SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS Today from 2 PM until 10 PM. See impacted areas in photos.

Be Prepared! Storms have potential to cause Heavy Rain, Flash Flooding, Tornados, Hail, Damaging Winds, and Lightning Strikes.

Localized damaging winds may cause tree uprooting or broken limbs leading to power outages and road closures. Locally, heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding, especially in urbanized and poor drainage areas, as well as areas that have already experienced excessive rainfall.
