📚 Meet Your Librarian 📚
Hello! My name is Payton Davis, a part-time clerk here at Iuka Library. I've been coming to this library with my Meme since I learned how to read, and it has been very fun having a job in a place that was such a big part of my childhood.
My favorite part of working here is getting to expand my knowledge on all the different authors and genres, and I love getting to help you all find what you want in a book. I'd like to give a small reminder that we don't judge here; everyone has different tastes in books or movies, and we are more than happy to find that for you.
When I'm not at the library, you can usually find me in an antique store with my Meme, playing cards, playing video games, reading a book, painting, sketching, cooking, or hanging out with my three cats: Omma, Jerry, and Thomas.
A few fun facts about me:
- I have had a bit of a special interest in dinosaurs lately, so having an "unearthed" theme for our summer program is quite exciting!
- My favorite genre is fantasy and/or assassins.
- I took two years of Culinary, two years of I.T., and one year of Health Sciences in high school.
- My favorite type of movies are Claymation, such as: Wallace & Gromit, Coraline, Chicken Run, etc.
- I personally own nearly 200 physical books and have read every one of them.
- My current favorite show/YouTube series is Project Fear - formerly known as Destination Fear.
- My pop art painting was once entered into a state competition; I didn't get top 5, but it was still a fun experience.
- My current favorite games are The Sims 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, and Slime Rancher 1 & 2.
