We routinely receive questions regarding current burn ban issuance. This is a link to the Mississippi Forestry Commission and lists the current active burn bans. Regardless of burn ban status, we strongly encourage citizens to be mindful of conditions that could lead to rapid fire spread such as low relative humidity and windy conditions. Please do not leave any fires unattended and have a water source available to extinguish any fires before they get out of control.

A burn ban is a restriction on outdoor burning during drought or wildfire conditions. Learn about burn bans and their exemptions.

The Iuka Fire Department and Iuka Public Works is aware of this activity, and there is no emergency at this time.

Please use caution when traveling near work crews and avoid parking too close to hydrants while this work is being completed.

We appreciate your patience as this maintenance helps keep our water system operating safely and effectively.

πŸš’ Public Notice: Hydrant Maintenance Underway πŸš’

The Iuka Fire Department will be conducting our annual fire hydrant maintenance throughout the city over the coming days.

During this time, you may see fire engines and personnel working along roadways and in neighborhoods. This maintenance is essential to ensure our hydrants are operating properly and ready to protect our community when needed.

⚠️ Please use caution when approaching and passing fire apparatus parked on or near the roadway.
β€’ Slow down
β€’ Stay alert for firefighters working nearby
β€’ Move over when possible

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep Iuka safe.

If you notice temporary discoloration in your water, it is typically harmless and should clear after running your water for a short period.

Thank you for your support!
