Bring your knife skills or your desire to learn some, no experience needed. We’ve got flexible shifts, 5 days a week! All are welcome, ages 16 and up.

Ever wonder what happens to extra unsold produce, dairy, meat, and bakery items at your local Ithaca Wegmans Food Markets ?? We are so fortunate to receive an average of 2500 pounds of fresh food every month from our local Ithaca Wegmans Food Markets. Food that we can then turn into healthy home-cooked meals for those folks in our community who need it most, free of charge, 5 days a week!

Donations come in all shapes and sizes and so much of what we do is made possible through the support from in-kind partners in our community. A big heart felt thank you to Wegmans Food Markets and all of our in-kind sponsors!

We are in the final weeks of our Spring Appeal!

Will you help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 to support our meal and advocacy programs? We are humbled to report we are 70% of the way there; your donation will push us even closer to the finish line.

Over the last year, the rising costs of housing, food, and energy challenged our budget. We see that the implementation of more stringent SNAP eligibility requirements and cuts to assistance programs will increase demand; however, our commitment to feeding people and providing hospitality, companionship, and advocacy is stronger than ever.

Your gifts feed our mission of remaining Ithaca’s only community kitchen, serving 300 meals five days per week. At Loaves & Fishes, free, nutritious hot meals are for anyone, with no questions asked. As we ring in a new fiscal year this Spring, our intentions are set. With your help, we will meet the rising demand for necessities and increased advocacy during the hot summer months and beyond.

Help us bridge the gap! Join us today in the fight against food insecurity in Tompkins County by contributing to our Annual Spring Appeal. Your support directly impacts those who need it most.

Able Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs) must now work, OR VOLUNTEER, at least 80 hrs per month to receive SNAP benefits beyond 3 months in a 36-month period.

If you are aged 18-64, able to work, and have no children under 14, not pregnant, and not caring for someone who can not care for themselves, can help you meet the work requirement with volunteer hours!

We offer shifts 5 days a week, both morning and evening time slots. Send us an email if you need help navigating this new terrain!
