The 2nd Ward Democratic Committee exists to elect and support strong Democratic leaders. The 2nd Ward Democratic Committee represents the neighborhoods and communities of Ithaca's Downtown, Northside, Southside, Henry St. John, Washington Park, West End Flats, the Waterfront, and a portion of East Hill and a portion of South of the Creek. We are committed to making/valuing diversity and inclusion

VOTE411 is a national, non-partisan election resource that provides a “one-stop shop” for all the information you need to register and cast your ballot, including when, where, and how to vote, in-person or with an absentee ballot. Voters can simply enter their home address to learn which elections are being held within their specific district. Information on each candidate, including their background, and responses to questions on their priorities and issues of concern to their voters, are also available.

Beinning Monday, August 1st, you can go to WWW.VOTE411.ORG to find what you need to know about the August 23rd Special Election and Primary Election.
All Tompkins County registered voters, enrolled in any political party or in no political party, may cast their ballot for the Special Election to fill the remainder of the term for Tom Reed’s position: Representative in the U.S. Congress for the old 23rd district, which has the original boundary before redistricting. This position will continue through January 3, 2023.

Registered democrats may also cast their ballot for the Primary Election which has candidates who are all democrats, in two races: Representative in the U.S. Congress for the new 19th district, and Senator in the New York State Legislature for the new 52nd district.

Early voting begins August 13th.

The General Election will be held on November 8th.

Launched as a community service in 2006 by the League of Women Voters, and supported by their Education Fund, VOTE411 has helped people participate in elections, whether they are first-time voters or seasoned veterans at the ballot box.
